Wine tour by horseback, Airstream, hike, bike or electric people mover

Say so long, partner to the typical wine tour and howdy to the innovative wine tours by horseback, Airstream, hike, bike and electric people mover at Garnet Valley Ranch Winery in Summerland.

"Activities all centre around The Outlook, a small tasting room and visitor centre with a birds-eye view of the property's varied landmarks," said Garnet Valley Ranch founder Christine Coletta.

"Whether you prefer to hop on the 'people mover', stroll, hike, bike or ride on horseback, Garnet Valley Ranch offers many ways to explore its natural beauty."

Let's start with those trusty steeds because a wine tour on horseback is unique and thrilling.

Plus, it's the ideal tie-in to Garnet Valley's ranch history.

The winery has teamed up with the cowboys at Wildhorse Mountain Ranch for guided rides on horseback through the 320-acre expanse of vineyards, vegetable plots, lavender fields, bee hives and ponds.

Every tour is customized for the group, be they beginner or experts.

Every tour also ends up at The Outlook for a seated tasting of six wines.

There's also the option to continue relaxing on the patio to soak in the views and enjoy another glass.

The price for the horseback tour and tasting is $250 per person, maximum of four to a group.

Available Fridays and Saturdays only.

Garnet Valley Ranch has three campsites beside the pond, one with a 25-foot, uber-cool, 2022 Airstream Flying Cloud trailer that sleeps four and comes complete with linens, kitchen and barbecue.

Nightly rates in the Airstream start at $200.

And, of course, there's always the option to pop up to The Outlook for a wine tasting.

The electric people mover is essentially a customized golf cart, but it's neat, nonetheless, to hop aboard for a guided tour around the property and end up at The Outlook for a tasting of six wines with that aforementioned view.

People mover tours are $60 per person, maximum of six per group.

The hike or bike and picnic package lets you wander or peddle through spectacular settings and choose the spot where you'll have a wine-paired picnic.

At the end of the day, there's more samples of wine at The Outlook.

Available daily for groups of up to six people.
