Music in a Victorian Drawing Room
Ross Bay Villa Historic House Museum’s beautifully restored Drawing Room is the perfect setting for that quintessentially Victorian instrument, the harp. Join us on December 7th at 7:30 PM, where renowned musician Gwyneth Evans will transport you to a December evening in the distant past.
Since the 1980s Gwyneth has played harp music in many different venues on Vancouver Island, including in the dining rooms at the Union Club and the Empress Hotel, and at hundreds of weddings. She studied harp with Kathryn Ely (formerly principal harp of the Victoria Symphony), and played with the Cowichan Consort, and other Island groups. Earlier in life, she taught university courses in English Literature, especially that of the Victorian period, and has a love for the traditional buildings and the natural environment of Victoria.
Advance reservations are required for this in-person event. Tickets are $25/person, available at https://tinyurl.com/mrxmrb49. Tea and seed cake will be available for corporeal refreshment. All proceeds support our volunteer based 1865 historic house museum.
