A quick guide to Canada Day events from SilverStar to Peachland

The long weekend is nearly here and with it comes a host of ways to celebrate our great nation’s 152nd birthday!

As we know long weekends tend to be busy for everyone, we wanted to help alleviate some of the stress by putting together a quick guide of Canada Day celebrations taking place from Vernon to Peachland.

SilverStar

For those of you interested in heading somewhere new this year, SilverStar is offering some great Canada Day festivities for you to enjoy.

Families are invited to participate in a number of kid-friendly activities including pony rides, inflatables and free summer tubing, in addition to munching on some birthday cake and snow cones.

Afterward, parents are invited to take in the live music and bbq at the beverage gardens! The Canada-themed kicks off at noon and carries on all day.

Vernon

Head to Polson Park this Monday for some free family-fun!

Kicking off at 10 a.m. the park will be filled with various activities, live entertainment and tasty treats until 4 p.m.

End the day off with a bang thanks to the Craftsman Collision Fireworks display and Kin Beach. Choreographed to go along with a simulcast on Beach Radio 105.7 this fireworks display will be an experience like no other.

Head out to Paddlewheel Park, Kin Beach, Bench Road, Bella Vista or Lakeshore Road for an ideal viewing spot and tune it at 10:30 p.m. sharp.


Lake Country

Swalwell Park will be host to a variety of fun this Canada Day including everything from live music and lawn games to fresh watermelon and cake!

After spending the day browsing the vendors and enjoying the activities head to the Creekside Theatre for a free showing of Captain Marvel to cap off the excitement.

The fun begins at 8 a.m. with a pancake breakfast and wraps up at 9 p.m.

Big White

If you are helping ring in the summer season at Big White you can look forward to a variety of Canada Day activities as well.

Start your morning bright and early with a hearty pancake breakfast at 9 a.m. before moving on to cake for lunch at 1 p.m.

Little ones can look forward to the ‘Paint A Rock’ station from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and families can enjoy spending the day hiking, biking or riding the gondola to explore what is under the snow.

Kelowna

The best patriotic party of the year is right here in Kelowna!

Be a part of the over 60,000 people that turn up for a day of fun in the downtown core.

From live music across six downtown stages to vendors and children's’ activities in Waterfront Park, food trucks in Tugboat Bay and more fun to be found in Stuart Park, Prospera Place and The Kelowna Art Gallery — there is something for everyone, everywhere you turn.

Celebrate the diversity of our great country from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. finishing off with a legendary fireworks display scheduled to begin at 10:30 p.m.

West Kelowna

New this year, the producer’s of Westside Daze have given Canada Day its own weekend to be celebrated!

This Monday residents of West Kelowna can look forward to a day of fun and music in Johnson Bentley Memorial Park.

Cake cutting is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. followed by performances from Sista B and the Boyz, magician Lief David and more!

Peachland

If you find yourself a bit farther south this Canada Day then swing by Peachland’s Heritage Park for some patriotic fun, eh!

With a beach run, pancake breakfast and chalk art to take in during the morning and a kids zone, live music and a parade in the afternoon — there will be no shortage of fun for everyone.

Fireworks are scheduled to go off at 10:30 p.m. from Day Wharf, so don’t miss out.
