Warning issued about popular fans after fire hazard discovered

A warning has gone out about some popular fans over fears they could pose a fire hazard.

Intertex’s LLC B-Air and BlueDri blower fans can overheat if the outlet becomes overloaded or short-circuited, Health Canada explained.

Consumers are urged to immediately stop using the convenience outlets on the side of the blowers and get in touch with Intertex for a cordset adapter.

As of Aug. 4, there have been no reports of injuries involving the fans.

Between January 2008 and July 2020, the company sold 8,153 of the fans in Canada and 189,000 in the USA.
