Amazon has removed a series of Christmas-themed products featuring pictures of infamous Nazi death camp Auschwitz after an uproar on social media.
The retail giant was attacked by, among others, the Twitter account of the Auschwitz museum in Poland.
Products on sale by the “Fcheng” vendor included a Christmas tree ornament, a bottle opener and a mousepad.
One of the items was described as “practical and beautiful.”
It seems that @amazon has removed all of the "Christmas ornaments" with the images of the former Auschwitz camp. Thank you everyone for your activity and response. https://t.co/VGFnSDMWM9

All of the products featured images of the extermination camp where around a million people were murdered during the Second World War.
The Auschwitz museum tweeted: “Selling ‘Christmas ornaments’ with images of Auschwitz does not seem appropriate.
“Auschwitz on a bottle opener is rather disturbing and disrespectful.”
Amazon later released a statement explaining that the products had been removed.
