Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announce birth of 2nd child

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced the birth of their second child on Sunday.

According to the announcement from the Royal Family, Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor was born at 11:40 am on Friday.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had their child at the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. She weighed seven pounds and 11 ounces.

"Lili is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen, whose family nickname is Lilibet," wrote the family. "Her middle name, Diana, was chosen to honor her beloved late grandmother, The Princess of Wales."

Both Markle and the child are healthy and resting. The family wished to thank the public for their support during the journey.
