Hundreds of thousands of Kia vehicles have been recalled across Canada due to a faulty part that could cause a fire.
The vehicles’ brake hydraulic electronic control unit has been shown to short circuit, according to Transport Canada.
The unit could short circuit even while the vehicle is parked and turned off.
Kia has urged those who own an affected vehicle to go to a dealership to have the fuse replaced.
The South Korean manufacturer recommends owners park their vehicle outdoors and away from other vehicles or structures until the fuse has been replaced.
A total of 276,225 vehicles have so far been included in the recall, which was first announced on Sept. 26.
