One of Canada’s best-known and most beloved actors has died. Donald Sutherland died Thursday in Miami at the age of 88 following a long illness. His son, actor Kiefer Sutherland, said his dad was “one of the most important actors in the history of film.”

A new Léger poll conducted for the Canadian Press found that only 43% of respondents across Canada had a positive view of federal bilingualism. Half of respondents said official bilingualism in Canada is “a myth” that only exists to satisfy a minority.

Police responded to a mass shooting in Vaughan, north of Toronto, this morning. Four victims were found in a home and all have been taken to hospital, two in life-threatening condition. There is no word yet on a possible suspect.

An Ontario woman says she was feeling lost and sad when she saw a billboard about a psychic astrologer who could resolve any problem. After spending $50K on the psychic who promised he could rid the woman of her evil spirits, she said she felt “used” and “embarrassed.”

A controversial truck seen driving around Toronto displaying anti-Muslim messaging belongs to Rebel News. The right-wing media outlet said on its website that the truck is theirs and it was running ads by a group called Canadians Opposed to the Occupation of our Streets and Campuses.
