1. Several airlines ground Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircrafts

Australia is the latest in a growing list of countries and companies grounding its Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft after one of the planes, operated by Ethiopian Airlines, crashed and killed 157 people. The same model of plane was being operated by Lion Air in October 2018 when it also crashed, killing 189 people, raising questions about the aircrafts' safety.

2. Conor McGregor arrested after assaulting a fan's phone

The MMA star was arrested in Miami after he allegedly smashed the phone of a fan who was trying to get a picture. He has since posted bond and been released from jail.

3. The World Wide Web turns 30 years old

It was on this day in 1989 that Sir Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web, changing the world forever. People are using the day to look back fondly on dial-up internet.

4. A new high-flying trailer has been released for Disney's Aladdin

Disney has officially launched its first full-length trailer for the upcoming live-action Aladdin. The new movie stars Mena Massoud as Aladdin. Massoud, born in Egypt, was raised in Markham, Ontario and graduated from Ryerson University’s theatre program.

5. Raptors player involved in an intense brawl

An already disappointing loss for the Toronto Raptors was made worse when forward Serge Ibaka became entangled in a rather intense brawl. Both players were ejected and are expected to be suspended by the league.
