1. Weight-loss drug available in Canada next week

Weight-loss drug Wegovy will be available in Canada next Monday, the makers of Ozempic have said. The drug, sold by Danish pharmaceutical giant Novo Nordisk, is administered in the form of weekly injections.


2. Face of Neanderthal woman reconstructed

A 75,000-year-old Neanderthal skull has been reconstructed by scientists in the UK. The ancient hominid – a female – belonged to a now-extinct species that was closely related to modern humans.


3. Emotional support alligator stolen, dumped in swamp

The owner of an emotional support alligator has revealed that his unusual pet has been taken by pranksters and ultimately dumped in a swamp. The loveable reptile, known as "WallyGator," is said to have helped relieve Joie Henney's depression for nearly a decade.


4. Apple investigating after iPhone alarm clocks fail to sound

Apple has said it's working hard to fix the alarm clock feature on some iPhones after irate social media users complained of oversleeping. The alarm made no sound for some unhappy individuals, causing them to have an unexpected lie-in.


5. Photograph released to mark princess's 9th birthday

A new photograph of Princess Charlotte, the daughter of the Prince and Princess of Wales, has been released to mark the youngster's ninth birthday. In a post on X, the family thanked well-wishers for their "kind messages."
