1. Canada is already experiencing a cannabis shortage
You could definitely see this one coming. Just two days after cannabis became legal in Canada, the country is already experiencing a shortage. Supple shortages have already been reported in Newfoundland, Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia and Nunavut with other provinces telling customers to expect shipping delays due to heavy demand.
Talk about a buzzkill: supplies of legal cannabis are running out at retailers across the country.

2. Red Sox defeat Astros to advance to World Series
The defending champions have been eliminated. The Boston Red Sox completed a five-game series win over the Houston Astros on Thursday, advancing to the World Series for the fourth time in the last 15 seasons. They’ll face either the Los Angeles Dodgers or Milwaukee Brewers in the final series.

3. Dozens feared dead after tragic train incident in Northern India
The death toll looks to be a big one following a strange and tragic train incident in India today. Dozens of people were on the tracks watching Ravana effigy being burnt and reportedly couldn’t hear the train coming due to the noise of the crackers. It’s feared that around 50 people died when the train hit the crowd.

4. Britney Spears announces new Vegas residency
Britney Spears announced her latest venture in a big way on Thursday. The pop star put on an enormous graphics show that was projected onto the Park MGM in Las Vegas. The display announced that Spears will be starting a new residency at the hotel called Britney Domination, which will open in February 2019.

5. China has plans to launch an artificial moon
Chinese scientists are hoping to hang the first man-made moon above the city of Chengdu by 2020. The artificial moon will be eight times brighter than the real one and it could replace street lamps in urban areas, reducing costs. The moon will be a set of illumination satellites that will shine in tandem with the real moon.
