1. Police find 39 bodies in a container in Essex

Police in England have made a tragic discovery. A total of 39 dead bodies were found in a shipping container that was being transported by a semi-truck. It was discovered in Essex and a 25-year-old man from Northern Ireland has been arrested on the suspicion of murder. Police believe the container was from Bulgaria.

2. Former and current Raptors both shine on opening night

It was a fantastic opening night for members of the championship-winning Toronto Raptors. The Raptors players received their championship rings and went on to beat the New Orleans Pelicans in overtime, led by 34 points from both Fred VanVleet and Pascal Siakam. In Los Angeles, Kawhi Leonard scored 30 points as the Clippers beat Danny Green and the Lakers, but Green scored an impressive 28 points in his debut.

3. Paralympic athlete ends life through euthanasia

Belgium athlete Marieke Vervoot has ended her life on her own accord. Vervoot won a gold medal at the 2012 Paralympics in London, but her degenerative muscle disease left her in constant pain. This week, the 40-year-old decided to end her own life through euthanasia, which is legal in Belgium.

4. Edward Snowden goes on Joe Rogan’s podcast

Joe Rogan’s podcast is one of the most popular in the world, but even if you’re not a listener you may want to check out his latest episode. Rogan had American whistleblower Edward Snowden on the show for a lengthy chat. People are applauding Rogan for somehow landing the elusive guest.

5. Nationals upset Astros in game 1 of the World Series

Are the Washington Nationals a team of destiny? Their recent play is certainly making it seem that way and the team’s improbable run continued with a game one win over the Houston Astros in game one of the World Series on Tuesday. Max Scherzer impressed as usual and Juan Soto led the way offensively as the Nats picked up a 5-4 win. Game two is tonight.
