1. Lululemon replacing HBC as Canada’s Olympic outfitter

The Canadian Olympic Committee announced on Thursday that lululemon will design Team Canada’s clothing for the Games through 2028. The Vancouver-based company takes over the job from Hudson’s Bay Company after a 16-year run that spanned eight Olympics.


2. Independent audit confirms Biden won Maricopa county in 2020

One of the most controversial results of the United States’ 2020 presidential election was in Arizona’s Maricopa county. An independent audit has confirmed that President Joe Biden did in fact beat Donald Trump, as the former president received 45,469 fewer votes than his successor.


3. Netflix confirms there will be a second season of Tiger King

The show that seemingly took over the world near the start of the COVID-19 pandemic will be returning for more. Netflix has confirmed that Tiger King season two will be released before the end of the year and promised “just as much mayhem and madness” as the first season. An exact release date has yet to be announced.


4. The 43rd Ryder Cup is underway at Whistling Straits

One of the most anticipated golf events around is underway at Whistling Straits Golf Course in Wisconsin. It’s Team USA against Team Europe in the 43rd Ryder Cup. Europe has had more success in the biennial event in recent years, but the USA has brought one of its most stacked teams ever this time around. There will be matches over the next three days before a winner is decided on Sunday.


5. Nintendo announces new Mario movie with big stars attached

At the Nintendo Direct showcase on Thursday, the company made a surprising and interesting announcement. Nintendo is teaming up with the studio behind Despicable Me to bring a new Mario movie to the big screen in December 2022. It’s set to star Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad and Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong.
