1. China to probe Canadian canola imports in revenge for EV tariff

China has signalled what sector of Canada's economy it will target in revenge for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's decision to put a 100 per cent tariff on Chinese EVs. The communist dictatorship said it plans to open an investigation into the canola it imports from Canada.


2. Astronaut reports hearing 'strange noise' aboard stricken space capsule

An astronaut aboard the stricken Boeing Starliner space capsule has reported hearing a "strange noise" as he lingers in orbit with a colleague. NASA's Butch Wilmore said he didn't know what was making the sound, but it is now believed to have been a speaker feedback loop.


3. New Zealand to triple tourist tax

New Zealand is set to nearly triple its tourist tax in a bid to "ensure visitors contribute to public services" while visiting the country. From Oct. 1, it will cost $84 to enter New Zealand, prompting some groups to complain the move could dissuade would-be visitors.


4. Mother wants apology after son, 13, sent home twice before undergoing emergency brain surgery

A mother in Nova Scotia is calling on the province's health authority to apologize after her 13-year-old son was twice sent home before ultimately undergoing emergency brain surgery. Jennifer Weatherbie said her boy, Paxton Clarke, nearly died during the ordeal, caused by an infection resulting from the streptococcus anginosus bacteria.


5. Children aged between 12 and 14 arrested on suspicion of murdering 80-year-old man

Five children have been arrested on suspicion of murdering an 80-year-old man in the English city of Leicester. Police said the group of kids consisted of three girls and two boys aged between 12 and 14.
