Bianca Andreescu’s mother became a social media star during the US Open

Canada’s teenage tennis sensation Bianca Andreescu has quickly become one of the biggest names in women’s tennis.

While there’s no doubt the spotlight was directly on Bianca during her win at the US Open, her mother Maria also managed to accumulate a cult following on Twitter thanks to her spectacular outfits and calm demeanor in the stands.

Despite her reserved nature when watching her daughter in action, Maria is without a doubt proud of her 19-year-old, evident by her personal Instagram account, which is almost made up entirely with photos of Bianca.

It also appears the two have a great relationship.

Bianca recently posted an adorable birthday post to her mom with the caption "Without you, I don't know what I'd do. but with you there is nothing I can't do."

During the US Open, Bianca also responded to the social media hype surrounding her mom, posting "This is actually hilarious. My mom's a straight G. I'll never be that cool." to a photo of the ever-glamorous Maria on Twitter.

The Andreescu family story is a compelling one as well, with Maria and Nicu arriving in Canada as Romanian immigrants 1994 and six years before Bianca was born.
