A very special puppy was rescued recently in North America.
Narwhal was born with an extra tail on his forehead, making him a viral sensation basically overnight.
The rescue that saved him, Mac’s Mission in Jackson, Missouri, said that Narwhal was found with another older dog out in the cold.
The rescue “specializes in special” and has been showing off how cool (not to mention adorable) Narwhal is.
One of Mac’s Mission's followers even said, “It appears they assembled the puppy wrong. Always follow the directions people!”
He’s also earned the nickname “Narwhal the Little Magical Furry Unicorn.”
The question on everyone’s mind, however, is “does it wag?”
Turns out, no it doesn’t. Narwhal was taken to the vet where he had x-rays that showed the tail is not connected to anything and “has no real use other than making him the coolest puppy ever.”
There’s no real reason to remove the tail yet, according to Narwhal’s vet, so he may be rocking this look for awhile.
“The unicorn face tail does not bother Narwhal and he never slows down, just like any normal puppy,” said the rescue. “He seems completely healthy other than some usual puppy worms he got meds for.”
Narwhal is not yet available for adoption as the team caring for him want to monitor him and his now internet famous tail for a bit longer.
“Right now he is pretty much the most unique amazing example of what we do here and we are so thankful to have the chance to be part of his journey,” said Mac’s Mission.
