A giant dinosaur is the Toronto Raptors official mascot, but everyone knows the team's real mascot is Canadian rapper Drake.
But you would be amiss believing every player is a massive Drizzy fan, or even a hip-hop fan.
Raptors 7-foot tall centre Lucas “Bebê” Nogueira recently did an interview with CBS and the Brazilian had some excellent quotes when asked about his personal music taste versus Canadians' taste in music.
“Everywhere you go, it’s Drake, Drake, Drake,” Nogueira explained to CBS Sports’ James Herbert.
“One of the bands that I love so much and Canadians seem to hate is Nickelback. I don’t understand because when you’re famous Canadians support you so much. They love to support famous Canadians. And I grew up thinking Chad Kroeger is amazing, I love him. And when I came to Canada, people are like, ‘You like Nickelback?’ And everybody starts laughing in my face.”
Nogueira goes on to explain that as a teenager growing up in Brazil he loved Green Day, Blink-182 and Simple Plan.
In fact, Nogueira still listens to Hoobastank to this day.
Maybe it's time to give Nickelback a second chance. Or maybe not.
