BC makes masks mandatory in all retail and indoor public places

BC announced a new mandatory masks policy as one of several sweeping health orders on Thursday.

Masks will now be necessary for all retail and indoor public spaces where customers and employees will now be required to cover their faces.

It also applies to common public areas in workplaces or hotels, such as elevators and corridors between different work areas.

Patrons at restaurants will also need to wear a mask while they’re not at their table.

That includes entering the restaurant, leaving the restaurant and going into the restroom.

Staff will also need masks while interacting with others, with staff, and with the tables.

Masks will not be mandatory in schools and doesn't apply to those that are unable to put on or remove the mask on their own.

It also doesn’t apply to those under the age of two.
