BC reporting 1,052 new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend

British Columbia is reporting 1,052 new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend, bringing the total number of active cases in the province to 3,132.

Over the three-day reporting period, this is how daily cases broke down:

  • Nov. 19-20: 390 new cases
  • Nov. 20-21: 332 new cases
  • Nov. 21-22: 330 new cases

Of the new/active cases, this is how they were spread across each region:

  • Fraser Health: 345 new cases (1,148 active)
  • Interior Health: 227 new cases (589 active)
  • Northern Health: 196 new cases (528 active)
  • Island Health: 159 new cases (436 active)
  • Vancouver Coastal Health: 125 new cases (436 active)
  • No new cases of people who reside outside of Canada (zero active)

There are currently 337 people in hospital with 115 of those individuals in intensive care.

In the last 72 hours, 10 new deaths have been reported bringing the provincial pandemic death toll to 2,303.

From the new deaths, four were reported in Northern Health, and two coming from Fraser Health, Island Health, and Vancouver Coastal Health.

A number of COVID-19 outbreaks have been declared over at health care facilities across the province, which leaves just 12 active outbreaks remaining.

  • Fraser Health: Queens Park Care Centre, Tabor Home, Maplewood House, George Derby Centre, Dufferin Care Centre, Abbotsford Regional Hospital, Ridge Meadows Hospital
  • Interior Health: Village by the Station, Sun Pointe Village, Royal Inland Hospital
  • Northern Health: Peace Villa, Laurier Manor

In the past week (Nov. 12-18), this is how cases broke down from unvaccinated to vaccinated:

  • Not vaccinated: 1,580 (55.5%)
  • Partially vaccinated: 123 (4.3%)
  • Fully vaccinated: 1,142 (40.1%)

Over the past two weeks (Nov. 5-18), this is how cases hospitalized broke down from unvaccinated to vaccinated:

  • Not vaccinated: 191 (61.0%)
  • Partially vaccinated: 28 (8.9%)
  • Fully vaccinated: 94 (30.0%)

Since December, the province has administered 8,551, 866 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

From the eligible people 12 and older in BC, 90.9% (4,213,371) have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 87.3% (4,047,568) have received their second dose.

Of the eligible adults in BC, 91.3% (3,949,189) have received their first dose and 87.9% (3,800,763) have received their second dose.
