As many as 550 people could have been exposed to COVID-19 at a strip club in Toronto earlier this month.
Toronto Public Health (TPH) said the exposure was only possible on the following dates and times at the Brass Rail Tavern on Yonge Street:
August 4 from 7:00 pm to 2:30 am (August 5)
August 5 from 8:00 pm to 3:00 am (August 6)
August 7 from 9:00 pm to 3:00 am (August 8)
August 8 from 7:00 pm to 2:30 am (August 9)
An employee at the club who was working on those dates has tested positive for COVID-19, TPH said.
Anyone who visited the venue at those times and on those dates is urged to self-monitor for 14 days after their last visit.
“TPH has followed up with all known close contacts and asked these individuals to self-isolate for 14 days and to go for testing,” the authority explained.
Toronto has had 15,548 confirmed or probable cases of COVID-19, 1,163 deaths linked to the disease and 14,117 recoveries.
Ontario as a whole has had 40,367 confirmed cases, with 2,787 deaths linked to the disease and 36,689 recoveries.
