7-Eleven’s popular ‘Bring Your Own Cup’ Slurpee event returns this week after 2-year hiatus

As we escape the clutches of the COVID-19 pandemic, plenty of events are starting to make their long-awaited returns.

That includes large, notable events like music festivals, sporting events and more, but it also includes the kooky, smaller events that we didn’t even know we missed.

And that would certainly define 7-Eleven’s ‘Bring Your Own Cup’ Slurpee event, which will return this week after a two-year hiatus due to health concerns.

This year, it’s a two-day extravaganza that will take place this Friday and Saturday at 7-Elevens across Canada.

For those two days only, Slurpee lovers can head to their local 7-Eleven with their most creative cup, like a trophy, fish bowl, cookie jar or watering can, and fill it to the brim for only $2.49.

"We know our fans have been counting down the days for the return of the Slurpee Bring Your Own Cup (event), so we're so excited to finally answer their call and bring it back this summer," says Norman Hower from 7-Eleven Canada.

"There is some friendly competition each year – we can't wait to see them show off their cups and creativity.”

There are a few ground rules you have to follow, however, as the container can’t be more than 26 centimetres in diameter.

Your cup of choice should also be food safe, clean and leak proof.

Is there any better way to kick off the summer months than a massive brain freeze from pounding back a Slurpee? We think not.
