GoFundMe started by families of 2 young stabbing victims in Sooke

A fundraiser has been started to help two families after an incident at a bus stop in Sooke over the weekend.

Police confirmed that two males were stabbed during an altercation on Sooke Road on Saturday evening.

A 21-year-old man was arrested shortly after the attack.

The GoFundMe says that an altercation started on a BC Transit bus, resulting in the two young men being stabbed over 12 times.

One of the victims was identified as a 17-year-old, and the second victim was a friend. Both have reportedly undergone multiple surgeries, and are in serious but stable condition.

“Both families will have to take time off work in order to be by their son's side,” said the GoFundMe. “Hopefully our community can come together to help ease some financial burden these families will now endure.”

The GoFundMe organizer promises that money raised will be split evenly between the two families.
