Residents of Kamloops should be aware of some upcoming closures at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre that are scheduled to begin in mid-August.
Kamloops is hosting two big sporting events at the end of the summer, plus the facility is due for annual maintenance.
The closures and availability are as follows:
August 16–21: Facility closed to host the BC Summer Swimming Association Provincial Championships
August 22–23: Regular operations
August 24–26: Facility closed to host the Canada 55+ Games
August 27–September 5: Facility closed for annual maintenance shutdown
Regular operation will resume on Tuesday, Sept. 5.
As a result of the three-week closures, anyone with an existing monthly or annual pool pass or full facility pass will receive an automatic 21-day extension to their membership.
While these closures are happening, be sure to check out other facilities around the city including the Brock outdoor pool, Westsyde Pool and Fitness Centre, Albert McGown Water Park, McDonald Water Park, Prince Charles Park wading pool and Westsyde Centennial Water Park.
