Skiers, snowboarders and all residents who frequently visited Sun Peaks growing up got some exciting news on Monday.
The mountain resort announced on Monday that, with the finished construction of the new Crystal Chair, they would be selling pieces of the original. Residents are now being given the chance to purchase chairs from that lift that had been in service since 1979.
A total of 80 chairlift chairs are being sold on Nov. 9. Who can purchases these pieces will be chosen through a ballot.
Those interested in getting a piece of history can buy tickets for $5 each. The more tickets you have, the better chance you can get a chair for $350.
Winners will be notified via email and will be given until Nov. 12 to purchase their items. Chairs must be picked up in-person at Sun Peaks during the hours of 1 to 4 pm on Nov. 13 and 9 am to noon on Nov. 14.
