(UPDATE: Aug. 9 @ 1:42 pm) – A 19-year-old Kamloops man has been charged with several offences following an alleged robbery and multi-vehicle crash on the North Shore Friday.
On Aug. 5, just before 3 pm, Kamloops RCMP officers responded to Fortune Drive for a report of an armed robbery.
According to the report, a man had allegedly threatened a cab driver with a weapon and stole their taxi.
The suspect was located shortly after the incident, however, he reportedly fled the scene at a high rate of speed and collided with two other vehicles.
He then ran from the area on foot. However, the Police Dog Services Unit were quick to track him down and officers arrested him.
Bradley James Venn, 19, is charged with one count each of robbery, failing to stop for police, dangerous driving, and failing to remain at the scene of a collision.
He remains in custody until his next court appearance on Aug. 11.

(Original story: Aug. 6 @ 8:18 am) – A suspect has been arrested and is being held in custody following a brazen robbery of a taxi Friday afternoon.
At about 2:47 pm, Kamloops RCMP received a report of a robbery that allegedly involved a cab driver being threatened and their taxi stolen from Fortune Drive.
Officers responded and located a lone suspect in the cab in the area. However, when they attempted to stop the vehicle, the suspect fled the area.
A short while later the stolen vehicle was involved in collisions with two other vehicles as the suspect allegedly fled the scene on foot.
The Police Dog Services team was called in to locate the individual who was arrested without incident.
The suspect is now being held in custody for a bail hearing. Police are recommending charges of robbery, flight from police, dangerous driving and failing to remain at the scene of a collision.
