Teen beaten by group with weapons, robbed of his shoes in McArthur Park

The Kamloops RCMP is searching for witnesses after a concerning assault in McArthur Park on Monday night.

Officers were called to the scene around 9:20 pm for reports of a “man in his late teens” being confronted and beaten with weapons by a group of four people.

According to police, the victim was walking across the soccer fields near the disc golf course when the attack happened.

“The masked culprits took his red and black shoes, then ran toward Holt Street beach,” said an RCMP statement.

The victim was transported to Royal Inland Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Any witnesses who have yet to speak with police are urged to come forward as soon as possible.

“According to the investigation so far, there may have been other people gathered in the park who may have witnessed the event,” noted Cpl. Crystal Evelyn.

Those with information related to the ongoing investigation can contact the Kamloops RCMP detachment at 250-828-3000.
