Thousands affected by Kamloops-area power outages

BC Hydro is currently responding to a number of Kamloops-area power outages.

According to the organization, three outages between Cache Creek and Kamloops have 1,280 residents without power.

The largest affected group is in Savona, just west of Tranquille Criss Creek Road. Downed power lines have 1,137 people powerless.

That incident has been in effect since 5:49 am. Crews are now on scene and working to fix the problem.

Inside Kamloops, an outage on the North Shore has 128 residents struggling. This outage, which sits between Mackenzie Avenue, Tranquille Road and Maple Street, is still under investigation and crews are expected to be on scene any time.

The final outage is affecting just five people in Cache Creek. Power was cut off on Friday at 1:11 pm following a motor vehicle incident.
