Mounties investigating fire at vacant Kelowna building

Firefighters extinguished a small fire at a vacant property in Kelowna this morning.

They said the building – in the 2800 block of Hwy 97 – appeared to have been used as a shelter.

The fire was reported at about 6:30 am.

Firefighters found the blaze in the washroom, Kelowna Fire Department said.

It’s being deemed suspicious, Platoon Captain John Kelly explained.

Mounties are now investigating.
