The stunning 'Festival of Trees' at Mission Hill returns tonight

In what is quickly becoming an annual tradition in West Kelowna, the 'Festival of Trees' is back.

Mission Hill Family Estate will be hosting the third annual tree lighting tonight from 5 pm until 9 pm and the trees will be proudly on display into the new year.

"As in past years, Mission Hill’s beautiful estate will be transformed into a dazzling forest of brilliantly decorated trees that evoke the colours, fragrances, and wonder-inducing spirit of the season," says a release from Mission Hill.

"Local residents and visitors who view the display are invited to vote for their favourite tree in the form of a donation to the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation."

For a minimum donation of $2, guests can enjoy mulled wine, hot chocolate, food stations, music from the MBSS jazz band and choir, other performers and much more.

Santa will also be making an appearance and families can get a picture with jolly old St. Nick for a minimum $10 donation.

“The life-saving work performed every day at BC Children’s Hospital is an evergreen cause that has benefitted countless families across the province," says Darryl Brooker, president of Mission Hill.

"Everyone at Mission Hill looks forward to celebrating the season with our guests, and once again bringing attention and much-needed funds to the Festival’s incredible beneficiary.”

While the lighting ceremony takes place this evening, the wonderful display of trees will be up until Jan. 4, so there’s plenty of time to visit.

It’s a great excuse to go try a little wine over the next few weeks as well since the winery will be donating all tasting fees during the ‘Festival of Trees’ towards their fundraising goals.
