A pair of local men were arrested after a break and enter at The EnergyPlex early this morning.
The RCMP responded to an alarm at the recreation centre in McCurdy Corner around 3:30 am.
A video was posted to The EnergyPlex Facebook page that showed two men breaking the glass front doors with what appears to be a rock before entering.
One of the men runs out of the frame, while the other hops the counter, the business speculating that “they were obviously looking for cash” in the video’s caption.
RCMP officers arrived at the scene and confirmed the break in, then immediately began to patrol the area in an effort to locate the suspects.
“A 38-year old Kelowna man and a 50-year-old Kelowna man have been arrested in regards to this incident,” explained an RCMP release.
Both men have since been released from custody on conditions for a future court date and the investigation is ongoing at this time.
The full findings of the investigation will be forwarded to the BC Prosecution Service for review and charge assessment.
As for The EnergyPlex, the business promises that you’ll have a lot more fun there if you come during business hours and simply open the front door.
“They were caught on several of our 30 cameras for everyone to see there is nothing to do at the Energyplex other than playtime during opening hours.”
