VIDEO: Your Monthly Market Need to KNow!: July 2019

KelownaNow is teaming up with the Kelowna Farmer’s and Crafter’s Market to keep the city up to date on what they can expect from the market each month.

From seasonal produce and blooms to favourite vendors and events, this is where you will want to come to help plan your weekly market trips!

Summer is in full swing and it is reflected fully at the weekly Farmers’ and Crafters’ Markets. This month you are sure to find those fresh Okanagan produce staples in addition to some brand-new proteins and a cornucopia of family-friendly events.

In terms of produce expect a colorful assortment of fruit and veg!

From vibrant red cherries, to deep-green heads of broccoli, purple garlic in addition to a few pastel peaches and apricots.

A fresh and unique protein you can add to your market shopping list is BC shrimp. Found at the Tanya-Ray Fishing LTD booth, this sashimi-quality shrimp is the perfect addition to your home’s summer menu!

In addition to regularly recurring activities and live music at the market, there will be some fun events to check out all throughout the month of July at both market locations.

Celebrate the deliciousness and versatility of Okanagan cherries on July 20th at the annual Cherry Festival and Bake-Off on the Corner of Springfield and Dilworth.

Get your oven’s pre-heated and your ingredients at the ready because you can enter your best cherry pie or cherry dessert for a chance to win one of three prizes.

The following Sunday (July 21) at the St.Paul Satelite market you can celebrate all things berries at the market’s Very Berry Festival, expect some fun games and tasty treats!

Wednesday, July 24 will see the market host a very exciting musical guest. We can’t reveal too much just yet other than the group just performed at Calgary, Alberta and is comprised of incredibly talented youth.
