BC Lions quarterback Nathan Rourke broke the single-game passing yards record by a Canadian with a 436 yard, four touchdown performance in his team’s 44-3 victory over the Toronto Argonauts on Saturday.
The record had stood for 41 years, originally being set by Gerry Dattillio who threw for 427 yards in a game for the Montreal Alouettes during the 1981 season.
The Victoria, BC product has turned heads in his first season as the Leo’s full-time starter, passing for 718 yards and ten touchdowns, while adding 93 yards and two scores on the ground in back-to-back wins to start the year.
Rourke was selected by the Lions with the 15th overall pick in the second round of the 2020 CFL draft following the conclusion of his college career at Ohio University.
