Opening day is right around the corner at the Okanagan’s two biggest ski resorts.
SilverStar is set to open its nordic season on Saturday, although the alpine season won't kick off until Thursday, Nov. 28.
Big White’s opening day is pencilled in for the 28th as well.
That means skiers and snowboarders still have a bit of a wait before they can get out in the snow, but the hills are starting to look ready for the season after the last 24 hours.
Over the last 24 hours, Big White got 10 centimetres of new snow and the village is now draped in a layer of white.
SilverStar, on the other hand, has seen 22 cm of new snow over the past 24 hours and the white stuff is still falling.
“It’s starting to look magical up here with more fresh snow overnight and today,” said a post to the SilverStar Facebook page.
Although it’s expected to clear up during the day on Wednesday, snow is expected to return to the forecast this weekend for what should be a busy opening day in the North Okanagan.
