Prince George RCMP investigating city’s 1st homicide of 2022

Prince George’s first homicide of the year happened on Tuesday.

Mounties were called out to the 1300 block of Porter Avenue around 11 am to assist paramedics with a man who was found there with serious injuries.

He later died from those injuries in hospital.

Police remain on scene at a residence on Porter Avenue today as investigators gather information.

“Our serious crime unit is working diligently to determine the series of events that led us to 2022’s first homicide,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.

“Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of the victim.”

Investigators are hoping to speak to anyone who was around the area and witnessed some unusual activity on Tuesday morning.

Additionally, anyone with video surveillance or dash cam footage from Tuesday between 9-11:30 am who has not yet spoken to police is urged to call 250-561-3300 and speak with an investigator.
