Prince George RCMP is warning the public after a recent spike in stolen Ford vehicles.
According to police, it seems that suspects are targeting Ford trucks and vans as there have been seven cases in the last two weeks.
These incidents started on July 2nd when a 2002 Ford E-250 van was stolen from Great Street in the BCR Industrial site. The unoccupied van was recovered on Quince Street on July 7th. A bike and generator were found inside the van, though they weren't reported stolen.
On July 6th, a 2003 Ford F-350 pick-up was stolen from the same industrial site. A Honda 6500 generator was in the back of the truck at the tie of the theft. The unoccupied vehicle was recovered on Upland Street in Prince George on July 7th.
On July 7th, a 1999 Ford F-450 pick-up was reported stolen from the parking lot of a pulp mill on Landooz Road. The vehicle was recovered by the McBride Detachment in Dome Creek on July 9th as part of a property crime investigation. The three people on the property were arrested. A stolen 2015 white Ford F-350 pickup was also recovered during this incident.
A White 2006 Ford F-350 pick-up with the BC Licence plate "JT3436 was stolen from a parking lot on July 8th. This vehicle has not yet been recovered.
Finally, on Saturday, a 2000 burgundy Ford F-350 dully pick-up with the BC licence plate "HR7739" and a 2011 grey Ford F-250 pick-up with the BC License plate "LE2360" were reported stolen. Neither vehicle has been recovered, though the second truck had a snowplow attachment on when it was stolen.
Police are encouraging the public to report any suspicious activity they see to the police. Residents should always lock their doors and use anti-theft devices when possible.
