Another 649 cases of COVID-19 were reported in British Columbia over the past 24 hours.
It brings the province to 200,898 total cases with 5,106 currently active.
Unfortunately, another 13 deaths were reported as well, which brings the province’s pandemic death toll to 2,109.
The deaths were spread evenly throughout the province with each health authority reporting either two or three.
Here’s how the new cases broke down by region:
There are currently 365 people in BC hospitals with COVID-19 and 143 of them are in intensive care.
BC is now knocking on the door of a 90% first-dose vaccination rate (89.9%) and the first-dose rate for eligible people 12 and older is right behind at 89.4%.
As of today, 83.9% of the eligible population 12 and older has received both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.
According to the Province, the past week’s data showed that people who aren’t fully vaccinated accounted for 65.2% of all cases.
Over the past two weeks, they accounted for 77% of hospitalizations.
