UPDATE: Evacuation orders and alerts rescinded for Allie Lake wildfire

(UPDATE: May 29, 2018 @ 1:15 p.m.) - The Thompson-Nicola Regional District has rescinded all evacuation orders and alerts pertaining to the Allie Creek wildfire.

The fire, which is 55 kilometres northwest of Kamloops, has shown very minimal growth in the last 24 hours, as it remains right around 2,700 hectares and 35% contained.

There are now 139 personnel, rather than the 132 seen yesterday, but there's also five less helicopters in the air.

These are the addresses that were previously on some kind of order or alert:

5160, 5193, 5233, 5245, 5401, 5450 Bonaparte Lake
9992 to 10096 Bonaparte-Spur Lake FSR
4680 to 5760 Eagan-Bonaparte Lake FSR
9221, 9593 Clinton-Upper Loon Lake FSR
3050, 3515, 4240, 4244, 4248 Eagan-Bonaparte Lake FSR
7888, 8396 Clinton-Upper Loon Lake FSR
9145, 9425, 9708, 9713, 10020 Deadman Vidette Rd

The Allie Lake wildfire, located 55 km northwest of Kamloops, is now posing an imminent threat to people and property.

The Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) has now issued evacuation orders and alerts for properties in the area.

A total of 14 properties in Electoral Area E and J are under an evacuation order, including the following:

Electoral Area “E” (7 address points):

• 9221, 9593 Clinton-Upper Loon Lake FSR

• 3050, 3515, 4240, 4244, 4248 Eagan-Bonaparte Lake FSR

Electoral Area “J” (7 address points):

• 7888, 8396 Clinton-Upper Loon Lake FSR

• 9145, 9425, 9708, 9713, 10020 Deadman Vidette Rd

If you are in the described area, you must leave immediately. It is suggested that evacuees shut off all gas and electrical appliances, other than refrigerators and freezers. If you have any large animals/livestock in need of shelter, please contact the TNRD EOC at 1-866-377-7188.

Properties on Clinton-Upper Loon Lake FSR and Eagan-Bonaparte Lake FSR are asked to travel north to Highway 24 and east to Little Fort, then south on Highway 5 to Barriere. For properties on Deadman-Vidette Road, travel south to Hwy 1 and east to Kamloops.

Another 51 properties have been put on evacuation alert, listed below.

• 5160, 5193, 5233, 5245, 5401, 5450 Bonaparte Lake

• 9992 to 10096 Bonaparte-Spur Lake FSR

• 4680 to 5760 Eagan-Bonaparte Lake FSR

A Reception Center has been established at the Barriere Lions Hall at 4354 Borthwick Ave in Barriere.

All residents that have been evacuated must register with Emergency Social Services at the designated reception center. Registration provides emergency personnel and family members with a list of evacuees and will provide evacuated residents with food, shelter and other personal necessities.
