BC reports 150 new cases of COVID-19, 95 just from IH

British Columbia reports 150 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, this bring the active case count to 783.

Of the new cases, 95 were reported solely from Interior Health, 32 from Fraser Health, 17 from Vancouver Coastal Health, and three were reported both in Northern Health and Island Health.

No new cases were reported of people who reside outside of Canada.

Interior Health now has the largest number of active cases in the province with 412, as Fraser Health is dealing with a total active case count of 196, and Vancouver Coastal Health who is reporting 122 active cases.

Island Health and Northern Health active case counts both sit below 50.

Of the active cases there are currently 44 people in hospital, and 22 are in intensive care. The remaining individuals are recovering at home in self-isolation.

In the last 24 hours there have been no COVID-19 related deaths.

There are two active outbreaks in long-term care; one at Holyrood Manor in Fraser Health, and one at the Nelson Jubilee Manor in Interior Health.

Since December of 2020, the province has administered 6,637,2241 doses of Pfizer, Moderna, and AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines.

Of eligible people 12 and older in BC, 80.7% (3,742,081) have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 62.3% (2,887,730) have received their second dose.

Of all eligible adults in BC, 81.7% (3,533,942) have received their first dose and 65.3% (2,822,405) have received their second dose.
