BC well represented on ‘50 Most Affordable Ski Resorts’ list for North America

As the ski season fast approaches in BC, the province’s mountains are being recognized for their affordability.

The freshly released “50 Most Affordable Ski Resorts in North America” list considered the cost of ski accommodations, lift tickets, equipment rentals and lunch on the slopes to compile the index.

Located just outside of Vernon, SilverStar was named the most affordable among BC resorts with a fourth-place ranking.

SilverStar has the cheapest equipment rentals in North America at an average of $31.99, the seventh-best price for a lift ticket at $106 and finished eight for accommodation prices with an average of $127.31 a night.

Also making the list’s top 10 were Revelstoke Mountain and Sun Peaks Resort finishing eighth and tenth respectively.

Kelowna’s Big White Ski Resort was ranked 12th, with an average cost of $46 for rentals, $124 for a day pass and $157.40 for a night’s accommodation.

Other BC resorts to make the list were Kicking Horse Mountain (16), Panorama Mountain (17) and Whistler Blackcomb (36).

The most expensive ski resort in North America to enjoy a day on the slopes?

That title belongs to Beaver Creek in Colorado where rentals, skiing and a night’s stay costs an average of $795.20.
