The wedding budget just got a lot bigger for Liam McIver and Anita Cremer.
The Langley couple has the ability to really go wild planning their dream wedding next year after winning a $1-million Maxmillions prize in the June 22 Lotto Max draw.
Cremer said she was at home when she checked the ticket on the BCLC app and her first thought was that it wasn’t real.
Once reality set in, she immediately called McIver to tell him the life-changing news.
“I was driving home when Anita called me,” explained McIver. “I didn’t believe her at first. I actually didn’t believe it until I got home and scanned the ticket for myself.”
The dream wedding only demands a small fraction of the $1-million prize, so the couple has their eyes set on a few other things with their winnings.
The money will go towards paying off their mortgage, a new travel trailer and perhaps a honeymoon trip to Nashville.
McIver and Cremer purchased the winning ticket at the Safeway on Fraser Highway in Langley.
