A magnitude-4.8 earthquake hit off the coast Friday evening.
Earthquakes Canada reports that the earthquake hit about 34 kilometres northwest of Tofino at 7:50 pm at a depth of 32 km.
“We have received no reports of damage at this time. Lightly felt in Vancouver Island,” says the agency.
Although no damage was reported, as of Saturday morning 195 people have reported that they felt it.
A majority of people (175) reported it as a two or three out of 10 intensity, considered a “weak” shaking.
One person did report the earthquake as a five out of 10 intensity, or “moderate” shaking.
