Trump demands Harry and Meghan pay for security amid reports they have ditched BC for US

The US will not pay for security to protect controversial aristocrats Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, President Trump has said.

He said that, though he is a “great friend and admirer” of Queen Elizabeth, the couple “must pay” for their own protection.

The president was referring to reports that the duo have moved to the US from British Columbia as Meghan begins a new job for Disney.

Harry and Meghan will formally step down as senior royals on Tuesday after creating a crisis in the family by demanding more freedom and fewer responsibilities.

In a statement, the couple said they will be paying for their security privately.
