VIDEO: BC police release security footage in bid to find poppy box thief

Security footage has been released in an attempt to find a man who stole a poppy donation box on Vancouver Island.

West Shore RCMP said a man entered a Thrifty Foods store in View Royal, near Victoria, on Nov. 3 at about 8:50 pm.

He then went up to the service desk and snatched the donation box before running out of the building.

The man’s description is:

• 30-40 years old

• Medium build

• Wearing a grey Adidas hoodie

• Wearing dark jeans and black runner with white soles

While the police did not mention it in their description, the man also appears to be white.
