Do you have $7,000,000 lying around?
If so, you may want to consider buying the latest steal of a deal that has appeared on the Vancouver real estate market.
The listing is for a 2372 square foot home at 1511 Barclay Street, right in the heart of downtown Vancouver.
The 96-year-old, two-storey home leaves much to be desired and is clearly a tear down that will make way for a multi-unit development.
Unsurprisingly, the first three words of the listing are “location, location location!!!”
Even such a valuable location, however, isn’t worth close to $6,980,000 it's listed for, at least according to B.C. Assessment.
The most recent evaluation of the property, done on July 1, 2017, established the land value at $3,339,000.
No one seems to be falling for the bait yet, as the house has been listed on the market for 60 days.
According to the Vancouver Sun, a nearby house on a smaller lot sold for $2.8 million in 2017, slightly above its assessed value of $2.7 million.
