Small Entry Syndrome

Many of us suffer from it, it’s a daily struggle: Small Entry Syndrome.

Small entries are a constant complaint I hear about from my clients. Just because your entry is small, it doesn’t mean it requires less attention.

A few key pieces can be functional and add interest to a small space.

Start with a great rug.

If you’ve been wanting to invest in an antique carpet, a small one for your entry is a good starting point.

Having somewhere to allow your guests to sit and put the shoes on is ideal.

It doesn’t have to be a bench or even a chair, something as small as a stool to perch on for a few minutes will work — look in the outdoor/garden sections for a unique piece (think wood stump or concrete block.)

A narrow table to display a few decorative items shows you put thought and care into an area.

Add storage baskets below to hide the clutter or everyday items.

If you don’t have the floor space for a table, a floating shelf will work too.

A mirror will add brightness and give the illusion of more space.

Hooks are functional for guests and also can double as decor when not in use.
