A much loved community event is back this holiday season.
Victoria’s Santa Claus Parade is set to return for its fortieth year on Nov. 26, 2022.
The parade will start at 5 pm at Belleville and Government Street, it will then head east on Humboldt and North on Douglas where the parade will end at Fisgard.
Organizers are extending the parade route a few blocks, as recommended by the Vancouver Island Health Authority.
“Masks are recommended but not mandatory and we ask that this year, take the time to respect each other, be kind, be polite and enjoy the event together,” said the GVFS.
Roads will be closed in downtown Victoria and CCTV cameras will be deployed for the event.
There are a series of road closures during the event, including the Johnson Street Bridge.
Here is a full list of closures:
Emergency vehicles and BC Transit will be permitted to cross the bridge when VicPD officers determine it is safe to do so.
Street parking remains available throughout downtown Victoria in advance of the parade.
