The Victoria Police say they have arrested two people for allegedly breaking into cars in a downtown parkade.
On Saturday at about 5:30 am, police responded to a call for a break and enter in progress at a secure parkade in the 100-block of Kingston St.
Police said the two men, who were observed by a witness within the parkade, were quickly located by officers and arrested after a short pursuit.
One of the men had more than 15 outstanding warrants and was held in custody. One man was released for a future court appearance.
Several items had been stolen from vehicles in the parkade and were returned to the owners.
“Residents and visitors are reminded to never leave valuables in their vehicle, even when parked within a secure area, and to always enable your vehicle’s alarm when it is parked overnight,” said the VicPD.
