Police are seeking additional witnesses and information after a man was confronted by another man with a knife in Beacon Hill Park on Saturday afternoon.
According to police, shortly after 2 pm on Saturday officers were called to the washroom area near the playground.
Officers attended and learned that the suspect allegedly brandished a knife toward the victim, who was with his family at the time, including a child in a stroller.
The family ran away from the man and called the police. No one was injured in the incident.
Several officers attended and located the suspect nearby, and he was arrested without incident and transported to cells.
Officers also searched the suspect and located evidence of drug trafficking.
The man faces recommended charges of assault with a weapon, possession of a prohibited weapon, and breaching a release order. A separate investigation into possession for the purpose of trafficking is ongoing.
