New Netflix movie ‘Rescued by Ruby’ filmed at Victoria animal shelter

The Island is known for its booming film industry, and yet another Netflix original was filmed right here in Victoria.

Rescued By Ruby is one of the entertainment giants newest releases, following the story of a state trooper who teams up with a clever but mischievous shelter dog.

One of the film locations for the heartwarming story has been revealed as a local animal shelter.

The Capital Regional District (CRD) took to social media to briefly share a bit about the experience.

The CRD Animal Shelter, located at 5401 Patricia Bay Hwy, hosted the film crew and actors.

They said it was “an amazing experience” for their staff.

“We can’t say enough good things about the production crew, actors and everyone involved,” the shelter added.

And, of course, they highly recommend that you check out Rescued By Ruby for your next movie night.
