Oak Bay Marina restaurant closing this weekend after 30 years in business

The Oak Bay Marina restaurant is closing their doors after more than 30 years in business.

The Marina Restaurant will have their last day of service this Sunday, March 5.

“Our community, current and past, have made this restaurant legendary, we have seen our staff and our guests grow up at the Marina Restaurant,” the business said in a social media post.

“Watching your children eat their first sushi roll, celebrate milestones, and every occasion in between has been such a pleasure and we thank you for including us in your joyous memories.”

Long time patrons will likely remember the pasta nights and their iconic Sunday brunch.

The reason for the closure, like other dining establishments, is the current economic climate.

“Unfortunately, just like many others we are not immune to the economic challenges arising from inflation, therefore we are not able to operate any longer,” the restaurant explained.

“We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone that has been part of our journey! We would especially like to thank the Marina Restaurant staff for their commitment and dedication.”

There will be a “farewell week” from March 1-5, to help the staff and owners “go out with a bang.”

The Marina Dockside Eatery will remain open.
